Red Hat Security Advisory: Red Hat Virtualization security and bug fix update
The vulnerability can be exploited over the network without needing physical access. It is easy for an attacker to exploit this vulnerability. An attacker does not need any special privileges or access rights. No user interaction is needed for the attacker to exploit this vulnerability. The impact is confined to the system where the vulnerability exists. There is a high impact on the confidentiality of the information. There is a high impact on the integrity of the data. There is a high impact on the availability of the system.
Active exploitation in the wild has been confirmed. Immediate patching or mitigation is required.
The exploit probability is very low. The vulnerability is unlikely to be exploited in the next 30 days.
We did not find any exploit available. Neither in GitHub repositories nor in the Exploit-Database.
- CVE-2018-1000805
Paramiko version 2.4.1, 2.3.2, 2.2.3, 2.1.5, 2.0.8, 1.18.5, 1.17.6 contains a Incorrect Access Control vulnerability in SSH server that can result in RCE. This attack appear to be exploitable via network connectivity.
UpstreamEPSS 4.4% - CVE-2018-10858
A heap-buffer overflow was found in the way samba clients processed extra long filename in a directory listing. A malicious samba server could use this flaw to cause arbitrary code execution on a samba client. Samba versions before 4.6.16, 4.7.9 and 4.8.4 are vulnerable.
UpstreamEPSS 4.3% - CVE-2018-10873Upstream
- CVE-2018-10904
It was found that glusterfs server does not properly sanitize file paths in the "trusted.io-stats-dump" extended attribute which is used by the "debug/io-stats" translator. Attacker can use this flaw to create files and execute arbitrary code. To exploit this attacker would require sufficient access to modify the extended attributes of files on a gluster volume.
UpstreamEPSS 3.0% - CVE-2018-10907
It was found that glusterfs server is vulnerable to multiple stack based buffer overflows due to functions in server-rpc-fopc.c allocating fixed size buffers using 'alloca(3)'. An authenticated attacker could exploit this by mounting a gluster volume and sending a string longer that the fixed buffer size to cause crash or potential code execution.
UpstreamEPSS 3.4% - CVE-2018-10911
A flaw was found in the way dic_unserialize function of glusterfs does not handle negative key length values. An attacker could use this flaw to read memory from other locations into the stored dict value.
UpstreamEPSS 3.1% - CVE-2018-10913
An information disclosure vulnerability was discovered in glusterfs server. An attacker could issue a xattr request via glusterfs FUSE to determine the existence of any file.
UpstreamEPSS 2.1% - CVE-2018-10914
It was found that an attacker could issue a xattr request via glusterfs FUSE to cause gluster brick process to crash which will result in a remote denial of service. If gluster multiplexing is enabled this will result in a crash of multiple bricks and gluster volumes.
UpstreamEPSS 2.4% - CVE-2018-10923
It was found that the "mknod" call derived from mknod(2) can create files pointing to devices on a glusterfs server node. An authenticated attacker could use this to create an arbitrary device and read data from any device attached to the glusterfs server node.
UpstreamEPSS 1.7% - CVE-2018-10926
A flaw was found in RPC request using gfs3_mknod_req supported by glusterfs server. An authenticated attacker could use this flaw to write files to an arbitrary location via path traversal and execute arbitrary code on a glusterfs server node.
UpstreamEPSS 2.6% - CVE-2018-10927
A flaw was found in RPC request using gfs3_lookup_req in glusterfs server. An authenticated attacker could use this flaw to leak information and execute remote denial of service by crashing gluster brick process.
UpstreamEPSS 2.8% - CVE-2018-10928
A flaw was found in RPC request using gfs3_symlink_req in glusterfs server which allows symlink destinations to point to file paths outside of the gluster volume. An authenticated attacker could use this flaw to create arbitrary symlinks pointing anywhere on the server and execute arbitrary code on glusterfs server nodes.
UpstreamEPSS 2.7% - CVE-2018-10929
A flaw was found in RPC request using gfs2_create_req in glusterfs server. An authenticated attacker could use this flaw to create arbitrary files and execute arbitrary code on glusterfs server nodes.
UpstreamEPSS 3.3% - CVE-2018-10930
A flaw was found in RPC request using gfs3_rename_req in glusterfs server. An authenticated attacker could use this flaw to write to a destination outside the gluster volume.
UpstreamEPSS 2.1% - CVE-2018-14652Upstream
- CVE-2018-14653Upstream
- CVE-2018-14654Upstream
- CVE-2018-14659
The Gluster file system through versions 4.1.4 and 3.1.2 is vulnerable to a denial of service attack via use of the 'GF_XATTR_IOSTATS_DUMP_KEY' xattr. A remote, authenticated attacker could exploit this by mounting a Gluster volume and repeatedly calling 'setxattr(2)' to trigger a state dump and create an arbitrary number of files in the server's runtime directory.
UpstreamEPSS 2.2% - CVE-2018-14660
A flaw was found in glusterfs server through versions 4.1.4 and 3.1.2 which allowed repeated usage of GF_META_LOCK_KEY xattr. A remote, authenticated attacker could use this flaw to create multiple locks for single inode by using setxattr repetitively resulting in memory exhaustion of glusterfs server node.
UpstreamEPSS 2.5% - CVE-2018-14661
It was found that usage of snprintf function in feature/locks translator of glusterfs server 3.8.4, as shipped with Red Hat Gluster Storage, was vulnerable to a format string attack. A remote, authenticated attacker could use this flaw to cause remote denial of service.
