Original Description
phpMyFAQ before 4.1.2 contains missing permission checks in ConfigurationTabController.php where 12 endpoints use userIsAuthenticated() instead of userHasPermission(CONFIGURATION_EDIT). Any authenticated user can enumerate system configuration metadata including permission model, cache backend, mail provider, and translation provider by querying /admin/api/configuration endpoints, violating least privilege access control.
The vulnerability can be exploited over the network without needing physical access. It is easy for an attacker to exploit this vulnerability. An attacker needs basic access or low-level privileges. No user interaction is needed for the attacker to exploit this vulnerability. The impact is confined to the system where the vulnerability exists. There is a low impact on the confidentiality of the information.
