Nextcloud Mail is the mail app for Nextcloud, a self-hosted productivity platform. Prior to 5.5.3, a stored HTML injection in the Mail app's message list allowed an authenticated user to inject HTML into the email subjects. Javascript was correctly blocked by the content security policy of the Nextcloud Server code.
The vulnerability can be exploited over the network without needing physical access. It is easy for an attacker to exploit this vulnerability. An attacker needs basic access or low-level privileges. The attacker needs the user to perform some action, like clicking a link. The impact is confined to the system where the vulnerability exists. There is a low impact on the integrity of the data.
